Dozens and Dozens of Fun

There are so many things that I remember doing when I was little that I can't wait to do with my kids. Growing up my brother and I did a lot of baking with my mom and grandma. My mom made up this little game where we would taste everything that we put into the batter; flower, sugar, vanilla, baking soda, butter, etc. A few weeks ago I helped the boys make their first batch of cookies. They loved it. I measure the ingredients and they took turns pouring it into the bowl and mixing it. Some day when they are a little older they will get to try all the ingredients.

I was not able to take picture the first time we made cookies, but Nana took some pictures of their second batch.

2 months old

10 lb 4 oz of precious

Today you are a beautiful two months old. You may not be rolling over, talking, sitting up, dancing, or reading yet but each day you are growing and changing. You are becoming more interactive and your personality is starting to show. You love sitting with daddy and smiling at all his facial expressions. You follow us with your eyes and you love to talk when we are around. If I leave you alone for too long you start to cry for us to come back or you get lonely and just fall asleep on me. So far you are still a soft gentle little girl, but I know you are going to toughen so you can stand up to your two brothers. You have already been tripped over and had toys dropped on you. So far you are not so tough, and you definitely tell us how hurt you are. I try and protect you but I know this is only the beginning. You have such a sweet personality; you are quiet and make the cutest little girly noises. I lay you on your back on the floor or sit you in my lap and just watch you wiggle and listen to you squeak. You are still an easy baby and only cry when you are hurt, having clothes pulled over your head, want to be held, or need to burp. You are sleeping well at night, and spent your first night alone in your own room at two months. I missed you tons and plan on having you sleep some nights with us and some alone in your room. I am not quite ready to have to grow up just yet. You do like your pacifier, but we are still working with you to take it more often. Your eyes are a beautiful blue. They have lightened up since you were born, and we are curious to see what color they end up being. I love taking you with me everywhere I go and showing you off. Everyone says you are so perfect; you look like a little doll. To me you are perfectly precious. March 18, 2010

For All of Kayla's Fans...

This is a post for you.

Kayla is mastering the head hold. She is starting to push off with her legs. She loves her Paci, but she also is searching for her thumb. She is making more noises every week, and I love listening to her talk to us. Kayla definitely knows when we leave her alone, she will either fall asleep or start fussing till we give her attention. Here are some photos of her at 6 weeks.

Wiggling and talking

Peaceful

Looking for her thumb.

Determined to find it.

Falling asleep on Daddy, after a LONG day.
