Moments Caught on Camera

Family Movie Time. Andrew has a high fever and there is nothing better for a sick baby than a Baby Einstein Movie.

What can I say. Baby Einstein is captivating. Even I find myself in a trance when I watch it.

Story time with Nana.

Apparently one is never enough of anything. He has been working on this for months. The first time he was successful putting two in his mouth they fell out when he attempted to add the third.

Adventures, Observations, and Lessons

And this all in one week.

-The boys who love the new and unseen had an adventure going through Brad's bathroom cabinet. They dug through ever treasure by first chewing on it then throwing it aside to find a new and possibly better discovery. Once all the treasure was dug up, Andrew staked his claim on the by crawling into the cabinet and under the sink.

-I learned that 103.9 temps are not as scary as they once were. However, they are still not very fun especially when there is no other symptom to figure out what is going on. The good new is Andrew seemed to only notice his temp once it was above 102. Anything less and he was normal monkey self.

-Nathan likes to stick his hand in anything including but not limited to mommies food, Vaseline, Andrew's poopy diaper.

-Nathan understands the shortest distance between himself and the computer is a straight line. Even if that strait line is climbing onto the ottoman and jumping off it and onto the couch. For those of you wondering he landed on the edge of the couch feet down, a little startled but OK. Unfortunately he was still not able to reach mommy's computer.

-Andrew fell forward and hit his mouth on the edge of the chair then lost his balance and fell straight back hitting his head on the tile. Both Mommy and Andrew survived our first bloody injury.

-Nathan is deciding that he prefers breast feeding over the bottle and sippy cup. When I tried to give him the cup he pushed it away in protest. When he was not sure I got the point, he reached for the cup with the sole purpose of chucking it across the room in discust. I tried to calm him down by giving him his pacifier. This too found its way through the air as he gave me a look as if to say "how dare you try and pacify me with this thing."

Peanut

This is my precious little peanut. Nick named Mommy's Peanut shortly after he was born, he still lives up to his name. Yes, at first it was because he literally was a peanut. But it still sticks today. Something about his funny giggly, determined, observant personality still spells peanut to me. So we could not resist doing a photo op in a pile of peanuts. I knew the only way to even begin to get a picture was to put him on the table. Something about being "on top of the world" makes his personality come to life.

Mommy's peanut

Not really liking the way these things feel. Notice how he is trying to lift every part of his body away from the peanuts.
Not a big fan of the outer shell.
Franky Mommy's peanut found the whole experience quite odd and a little unnerving.

Revenge is sweet...

Or in this case Nathan finds it crunchy and dry but still yummy.

Andrew and Nathan were both enjoying a stick of celery when Brady (our dog) snatched their treat right from there hands. Neither boy cried or fussed and just kept playing. Nathan however decided to get Brady back and crawled right up to the dog food bowl and started eating the dog food. So take that Brady. You are not the only one who can steal someone's food.

This post is dedicated to Uncle Trav in hopes that this brightens your day.

First Fall Fun

So the calendar says it is fall but in AZ it still feels HOT. Ok, so it is no longer in the triple digits but it is still to warm. Never the less the boys are enjoying their first fall. They have been eating pumpkin, although Andrew is not quite sure if he likes it or not. He prefers to chew on gourds. Here are a few highlights from October. I apologize for my overload of pictures. What can I say. I am a proud momma who is obsesed with capturing every moment on camera.

Boy's Dedication
Jason Fischer did an amazing job leading us in dedicating our boys to the lord and praying over us. Thank you Jason for everything you do.

Here I come you better catch me.

Uncle Trav's Visit
Our favorite uncle came for a visit. Unfortunatly we were not having a great week. We were teathing, constipated, and recovering from surgery. That and Mommy was all crazy doing tons of stuff and kept coming and going. But even with all the crazyness we did have time to love on Uncle Trav.

Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Our trip to the pumpkin patch was an adventure. We had fun as long as we were being held. Mommy and Daddy kept sitting us on this rough pokey straw. You would have cried too, if you had to sit on it.

Gourd to the rescue. The only thing that was able to sooth Andrew. Nathan is busy clapping after Grandpa.

I am not quite sure of this.

I don't like pumpkins. I want a gourd. Where is my gourd?

FIRST HALLOWEEN!!!
Halloween is a lot of fun. We enjoyed dressing up in our costumes and going trick or treating. We both thought brother looked funny in his costume and giggled at each other. We also had our first chocking experience, both of us with in seconds of each other. That was not so much fun. Mom and Grandma need to give us smaller pieces of ice next time.

Mary or Martha

For months I have been posting updates and stories about the boys. This is the first blog about me. For weeks I have been relearning something about myself. Or I should say God has been reteaching me something about myself. Our high school ministry and staff having been talking about abiding in Christ, worship, and a genuine relationship with Christ. Last night I was led to answer the following questions.

Am I am Mary or a Martha? Would I sit at the feet of Jesus or keep busy for Him. Do I a Christian who abides or am I a doing christian? If Christ came and knocked on my door tonight this is how would I respond?

"Jesus come in sit down make yourself at home and I will be right back. I have some amazing girls who I love. I want them to know you the way I know you. I want them to understand just how amazing a relationship with you can be. So Christ please wait and I promise I will be back. It will be worth the wait. "

While this may seem like a great selfless act it makes me a Martha. I love my girls and am so passionate about them abiding in Christ and "getting it". My love and concern for them has taken precedence over my own relationship with Him. Serving is amazing and God has called me to serve but not at the expense of my relationship with Him. I am constantly trying to think of how I can explain things in a way so they click with the girls and help them have a greater understanding of who God is. I am not looking for personal glory, I don't want a best leader trophy. I just want these girls to stop living the expected Christian life and live a genuine Christian life. The irony is that this causes me to live in direct contradiction of the life I am craving for them. Rather than simply living in relationship with God I become the typical American Christian, focused on what I can do. If I really understood who God is than I would stop doing. I would realize that God can and will work in these girls lives, not me. If anything I should spend more time praying for them and less time thinking of the prefect illustration. I would focus first on living the lesson rather than teaching the lesson. If my savior showed up on my door step I should fall to my face in awe and absorb every second, not run out the door. God does not need me to gather the Girls.

Can He not show up on their doorstep, just like mine? Isn't He big enough to reach their hearts without me?

Once again it is time for me to stop doing and start abiding.

Procrastination

As the boys get more mobile I find myself talking about all the things we need to do to baby proof the house, but rarely do I actually get to them. This is the story with lowering the cribs. Three days ago Brad and I discussed how this is long over do. We noted how the only thing keeping the boys from standing in their cribs is that they can't push themselves up from laying down to a sitting position... which means they can't pull themselves up and stand against the rail. However, within the last 48 hours Nathan has perfected this skill. So, we had yet another conversation about how we HAD to change the cribs. But still never got around to it. Today I walked in to check on my crying/supposed to be napping baby just in time to see him sit up and see his little head peak above the crib. Brad and I laughed thinking he was adorable seeing him sitting in his crib and we watched him cry as he pulled himself up and stand against the rail. Yes, I do realize that there is absolutely nothing special or funny about seeing a baby sitting in a crib. But some how when it is your baby everything changes. So apparently after nap time we are dealing with our over procrastination thankful that we caught him in the act before he went overboard.

Like This????

Am I getting close?

Nathan would like me to update this and let you know that he is officially a crawler. He is up on his hands and knees, is following after mommy and daddy, and getting into everything.
Andrew is frustrated with learning to crawl. He is a five point crawler; two knees, two hands, and forehead. He kind of inches along crawling and fussing. He moves an inch then puts his forehead down, gets up and moves and inch, head back down. He will get there soon. When he does I am in for it.

How To

After weeks of practice we have more than mastered the skill of putting our paci in our mouth. We have decided to graciously enlighten all of you by giving you a 'how to'.

Nathan Lee's Paci Push Directions

1. Lean way over and grab your paci with both hands.
2. Open your mouth WIDE open, as wide as you can get it.
3. Push the paci in.
4. Keep pushing.
5. Just keep pushing.
6. Eventually you will get it into your mouth and you can release.
7. Now it is time to Enjoy. Now that your hands are free start grabbing everything.

Andrew David's Paci Spin Directions
1. Lean over and grab your paci but sit back up straight so you don't put to much pressure on your tummy.
2. Open your mouth and place the paci in.
3. Using both hands spin it around and around.
4. Keep spinning.
5. If all the spinning does not work, drop the paci on the floor and cry.
6. Eventually some one will put it in your mouth.

Thing ONE & Thing TWO

Here We Come World
Thing ONE & Thing TWO
(Dedicated with Thanks To Aunt Erin who bought us our Favorite Onsies)

I am thing One
And I am thing Two
together we're adorable
far more so than you.

We're more than a hand full
we keep you on your toes
Oh, what trouble we get into,

heaven only knows.

Thing one, now that's me
Oh what a way to
begin
I am cuddly and snuggly

the Little Munchkin is in.

I am squealy and screamy
Oh, what stories I can tell.
I sing and I hum
and oh boy can I yell.

Now it’s me Thing Two
And I have the dizzle
I am squirmy and bouncy
I gotta wiggle and jizzle.

I may be a peanut
In size that is true
But I’m strong and I’m tough
Let’s race, I’ll beat you.

Boy oh boy
Messy boys are we
Lets chew and lets drool
Grabbing everything we see.

We roll and We tumble
We smile and We giggle
So excited and happy
We can’t contain our jiggle.

Just put us together
And the fun never stops
Forget all the rest
Cuz it's us who’s the tops.

For you one plus two

Oh you may think it's three
But THING one plus THING two
Oh so much more we will be.

sin nature

Whoever said that Children are born innocent never had kids of there own. At six months old my two little angels have proven that man is born selfish. Let me illustrate this point for you... correction they will illustrate this.

Notice that Andrew (Rt.) is holding a toy giraffe. You can see Nathan's desire...must have...

Ahhh...and the tug of war begins... I can hear it now "It's mine!" "No it's Mine. " "MOM!!!! He took my toy."
And Nathan's selfish desire of the flesh won. Andrew is left alone, toyless.

We love you Daddy!

"Look Daddy!!!!
We can sit up all by ourselves. " Andrew
"Yeah, Daddy! I taught Andrew how to sit. He still falls over some times. But he is getting better. He will master it by the time you get home." Nathan
"Come home soon so I can show you what I can do." Andrew
